Remember when you first learn how to tie your shoes? Do you remember who taught you?
There is no vivid memory but I am pretty sure it was everyone, from my three brothers to my dad. There was never just one way right. I do know for sure I never heard any of these:
Two snakes escaped from the zoo
and lived in the holes in my shoe!
In and out they twisted and fought,
Till their tails were tied in a knot.
One snake put his neck in a loop!
But his friend wrapped him round in a hoop!
Pull me out! Pull me out!
Cried this snake with a shout.
Through the hole pull me low!
And what do you know?
You've made a bow!
I think my family knew if they had mentioned anything about snakes I would have screamed to the top of my lungs. But the Tee Pee? Never heard this one either.

Build a tee pee
Come inside
Close it tight so we can hide
Over the mountain
And around we go
Here's my arrow
And here's my bow!
i taught myself. the first of all the kids who could. it was always a proud moment for me when all the kids would come to me, years older as they were, asking for me to tie their shoestrings.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember that time, but it would have been my mom as Dad traveled a lot.
ReplyDeleteShawny I tagged you on my blog.
